Project: Fuel and lubricants warehouse
Location: Moscow
Year: 2020
Duration: 2 days
Technology: DEEP INJECTION
Survey and elimination of risks for the building after planned reconstruction
Problem
Construction of a new fence wall on the existing foundation
Solution
Ensuring the necessary bearing capacity of the base
Problem
Object:
Fuel and lubricants warehouse.

Scope of work:
160 linear metres.

Method:
Uretek Deep injection.

Problem:
During the conversion of an old premises (1940) into a fuel and lubricants warehouse, it became necessary to erect a new enclosing wall made of foam blocks on the existing strip foundation.

Foundation:
Monolithic reinforced concrete strip with a depth of -2.5 m from the ground/floor slab level.

Task:
  • Conduct a survey of the foundation soils to assess the possibility of erecting an additional wall;
  • Inspect the space under the floor slab to identify voids and loosening.
Solution
A comprehensive survey was carried out to determine the density of the foundation and detect voids under the floor slab. The survey revealed weak‑bearing layers of the foundation and local zones of voids at the slab‑soil contact point.
To solve the task of strengthening the foundation soils, the deep injection method – Deep Injection – was chosen. The work was carried out from the outside of the building. Injections were performed at several levels. Injection tubes were installed at a specific angle according to the design.
To solve the task of filling voids under the floor slab, work was carried out inside the building. Injections were performed strictly vertically.
After completion of the foundation soil strengthening and void filling, a set of geodetic works was performed to install control marks for further monitoring and annual geomonitoring.
