Project: Checkpoint
Location: Moscow, Russian Federation
Year: 2020
Duration: 1 day
Technology: DEEP INJECTION
Elimination of the causes of cracks and deformations in the structures of the administrative building's checkpoint
Problem
Cracks on load-bearing walls, including window and door openings
Solution
Elimination of causes of precipitation in the form of deformation of load-bearing structures
Problem
During operation of the building, cracks appeared on the load‑bearing walls, including on window and door openings. A deflection of the slab inside the room was also visually noticeable.

Foundation:
Monolithic reinforced concrete floor slab with a thickness of 350 mm.

Task
Strengthen the foundation soils, fill the void at the slab‑soil contact point inside the room.
Solution
Before starting the foundation strengthening work, a comprehensive survey was carried out to determine the density of the foundation, identify weak‑bearing soil horizons, and detect voids under the floor slab.
To solve the task of strengthening the foundation soils, the deep injection method – Deep Injection – was chosen. The work was carried out from the outside of the building; injections were performed at several levels, with injection tubes installed at a specific angle according to the design. To solve the task of filling the void under the floor slab, work was carried out inside the building, with injections performed strictly vertically.
After completion of the foundation soil strengthening and void filling, a set of geodetic works was performed to install control marks for further monitoring and annual geomonitoring.
