Project: Production workshop
Location: Moscow
Year: 2019
Duration: 2 days
Technology: DEEP INJECTION
Reinforcement of the foundation soils of the reconstructed production building
Problem
Jagged horizontal cracks began to appear and develop
Solution
Reinforcement of foundation soils and filling of voids
Problem
After the re‑equipment of the production facility and the construction of a pedestrian gallery attached to the production building, ragged horizontal cracks began to appear and develop on the facade over several years. After a survey and collection of load data on the building, insufficient bearing capacity of the foundation soil was determined.

Task
Strengthen the foundation soils without damaging the foundation structure and fill the voids formed after the deformations.
The project in detail
Features:
The foundation is made of rubble stone; the foundation footing level is -5.70 m from the ground surface, -2.70 m from the basement floor.
Solution
Before starting the foundation strengthening work, a set of activities was carried out to determine the density of the foundation and identify weak‑bearing soil horizons. To solve the task, the deep injection method – Deep Injection – was chosen. All work was carried out from the basement part of the building, with injections performed at an angle. After completion of the foundation soil strengthening, a set of geodetic works was performed to install control marks and benchmarks for further monitoring of vertical and horizontal displacements of the building.
