Project: Sewage treatment plants
Location: Leningrad region
Year: 2019
Duration: 10 days
Technology: DEEP INJECTION & SLAB LIFTING
Correcting the building's tilt by 170 mm after uneven settlement
Problem
Draft of one of the corners of the building
Solution
Lifting and leveling the foundation slab in the horizontal plane
Problem
After the completion of work on the foundation slab, completion of the structure and installation of the necessary equipment, the customer discovered settlement of one corner of the building by 170 mm. After a comprehensive survey, Uretek Ground Engineering confirmed this tilt, recorded voids under the floor slab up to 70 mm thick, and also detected loosening of the foundation soils down to a level of -5 m from the ground surface.

Task:
Strengthen the foundation soils and level the foundation slab to horizontal levels with a tolerance of +/-10 mm.
Solution
The first step in this work for the specialists of Uretek Ground Engineering was to inject a geopolymer barrier to prevent large masses of material from escaping beyond the boundaries of the existing treatment plant foundation. The second step was to strengthen the foundation soils in the vertical plane from -3 m down to the underlying layers to create a stable geotechnical mass. The third step was to lift and level the slab to the horizontal level, and the final step was to fill the previously identified voids. All work on lifting and levelling the structure was carried out under constant supervision of the surveying service on the part of the customer and Uretek Ground Engineering specialists. No one on site could imagine that such a thing was even possible.
