Project: Private housing stock
Location: Samara
Year: 2014
Duration: 3 days
Technology: SLAB LIFTING & VOID FILLING
Leveling the floor slabs of a country house after a man-made accident
Problem
Uneven sinking of the floor and the formation of voids underneath it
Solution
Restoration of the design floor level
Problem
Task to be solved:
Restore the design level of a settled bathroom floor in the shortest possible time, filling the voids beneath it.

Initial data
After a pipeline failure in the bathroom and water penetrating into the soil underlying the floors, the soil was washed out and wetted, causing uneven floor settlement and the creation of voids beneath it. This situation was identified during an on‑site field survey by geodetic surveying of the floor surface and probing beneath it.

Objective
Restore the design level of the floor by filling the voids beneath it and strengthening the washed‑out underlying soil to ensure normal operating conditions for the room.
The project in detail
Technology applied:
The solution to the problem was provided by the SLAB LIFTING method according to URETEK technology. It involved injecting a special expanding polymer composition under the floor through thin steel tubes inserted into small‑diameter holes (up to 8 mm) drilled through the floor structure and its concrete base. The polymer mixture that penetrated between the slab and the soil, due to its expansion, filled the voids and, with the associated high pressure, created a lifting force for the floor while compacting the underlying soil and improving its mechanical properties.
Solution
The task was solved in the shortest possible time. The effectiveness of soil compaction under the floor and its lift to the design position was controlled by probing and laser levelling.
