Restore normal operational properties of a residential house in the shortest possible time and without excavation.
Initial data
Non‑damping cracks appeared in the walls of the residential house and on the floor of the attached terrace. A visual inspection determined that the deformations developed due to the difference in settlement between the foundations of the house itself and the later‑added terrace, which had a shallower foundation depth, and the soil beneath it was systematically wetted. The external wall cladding of the house made of “Besser”‑type blocks rested on the terrace foundation, which had insufficient bearing capacity of the soil beneath it.

Technologies applied:
The problem was solved by the DEEP INJECTION method according to URETEK technology, which involves injecting an expanding polymer mixture into the foundation soil to strengthen it and level foundation settlement. In total, 40 injections were performed at different levels under the foundation footing, providing an average lift of up to 5 mm, and the work lasted only 1 working day.

Solution
The effectiveness of the measures taken was expressed in the restoration of normal operating conditions for the residential house with the attached terrace. The quality of soil strengthening was verified by probing tests before and after strengthening, and the lift of the structures was recorded by laser monitoring.
