Initial data
During operation of an existing summer house, deformations appeared in the above‑ground structures due to uneven settlement of precast strip foundations embedded to a depth less than the freezing depth. A survey of the house established that the cause was uneven spatial destructuring of the silty‑clayey soil in the foundation due to seasonal freezing‑thawing‑drying processes.

Objective
Ensure normal operating conditions for the summer house by eliminating the consequences of soil heave through injection strengthening beneath the strip foundation footings, while levelling and stabilising their settlement.
The project in detail
Technologies applied
The solution to the problem was facilitated by the DEEP INJECTION method according to URETEK technology. The injection of polymer compositions into the soil strengthens it and eliminates heaving properties.
Solution
The result of the applied soil strengthening technology was verified by laser monitoring of the vertical lift of the structures (average 2 mm) during the injections and by dynamic probing after the foundation strengthening. This made it possible to assess the quality and effectiveness of the improvement in the mechanical properties of the soil in the injection zone. The soil strengthening took 2 working days. In addition, the company's specialists performed general construction repair and restoration work to eliminate the consequences of the defects and ensure normal operating conditions for the summer house.
