During the survey, areas with insufficient bearing capacity were found, as well as voids between the foundation soil and the floor slab. Uretek engineers developed a project to restore the bearing capacity of the foundation soils and fill the voids, as well as to subsequently lift and level the floor slab. The use of any alternative methods to eliminate slab settlement was considered and rejected for several reasons:
- Strengthening the soil with cement grout did not solve all the problems, and due to technological features (dirty work) would also have damaged the landscape of the site.
- The use of piles could only stop the settlement of the slab, but this technology did not solve the issue of lifting and levelling the floor slab. There is also always the issue of connection points between the floor slab and the pile, which would effectively mean building a new floor.
