Project: Section of highway
Location: Minsk, Belarus
Year: 2017
Duration: 3 days
Technology: SLAB LIFTING
Raising and leveling the road surface while maintaining the slope after subsidence
Problem
Drawdown of the ring Road road maps
Solution
Leveling the roadway surface while maintaining the "slope"
Problem
Carry out repair work on a settled section of the Second Moscow Ring Road as quickly as possible and without completely stopping vehicle traffic.

Initial data:
On one section of the 2nd Minsk Ring Road, a defect appeared in the form of road pavement settlement with a total length of 35 m, which disrupted the speed limit for vehicle traffic. A preliminary survey of this section showed that under the road pavement structure, due to uneven deformations, loosening of the foundation soil had occurred.

Goal:
Restore the operational performance of the settled section of the Ring Road by strengthening the soil under the road pavement and levelling the surface of the settled concrete slabs with a total area of approximately 350 m², as quickly as possible in anticipation of the facility's handover.
The project in detail
Technology applied:
The problem was solved by the Slab Lifting method using URETEK technology, which involves injecting a special polymer composition into the foundation soil through small‑diameter holes drilled in the slabs. Due to its expansion force, the composition strengthens the soil and creates a lift, levelling the surface of the settled road pavement slabs.
Solution
The quality and effectiveness of the soil strengthening and the lifting of the settled slabs (up to 60 mm) were verified by dynamic probing before and after injecting the mixture into the soil, as well as by online laser monitoring.
